This month will mark the one-year anniversary of Tootsie’s Salon and Gifts. This year has been the most fun, challenging and life-changing year but most importantly it has been a blast! Here is a little tid-bit of history of Tootsie’s, information about its owner, photos and what is to come!
Tootsie’s Salon and Gifts was named after a dearly loved and admired woman of the Columbus area, Martha “Tootsie” Watkins. Tootsie was known for her drive to serve her community through a retail store that thrived for many, many years. Tootsie's salon has the same passion for people to feel like they have been served well and received great benefits from their time and money spent there.
Now, a little about the owner of Tootsie’s Salon!
Tootsie’s owner, Carty Posey Harike got married in January to George Harike, purchased a home and started this journey of Tootsie’s salon all in the same four weeks. To say the least, it takes an individual with unmatchable passion and drive for something to pull this off. That is why Tootsie’s is blessed to have Carty Posey Harike as its owner, manager and one of its master hairstylists.
When talking to Carty about Tootsie’s one can tell that this salon was born out of her heart and drive to do something big. This business has become a part of her life and she would not be who she is without this beautiful place. I asked Carty what she opened Tootsie’s for and she simply stated, "I just want to make people feel beautiful!”
Tootsie’s Salon is more than just a place to get pampered; they also carry retail items as well. From headbands, jewelry and flip-flops, to scarves, funky shower caps and sunglasses. Everyone who comes in Tootsie’s will find something fun to buy!
Tootsie’s main goal is for every client that leaves to feel loved, pampered, and taken care of. In the years to come Tootsie’s will continue to strive and make their customers feel good about themselves.
